That is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If we combine enough\ncomputational resources (let\u2019s say the whole worldwide infrastructure of Google\nor Amazon), as well as<\/li><li>If we create a good \u201clearning\ncurriculum for the AI\u201d, as in if we specify a long list of things that the AI\nshould learn, starting from basic tasks like circle\/box recognition to writing\nliterature essays at high school and solving tasks at the undergraduate level,\nand<\/li><li>We use all these resources to\nallow the AI to learn the curriculum with a lot of trials and errors, in\nmillions of parallel threads, with a well set up optimisation environment,<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Then there is a significant\nchance that an AI can be&nbsp;conceived. However, it will require a lot of\nenergy and other resources to keep it running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the future, with enough\nadvances in algorithms, hardware and accumulated compressed knowledge, it will\nbe cheaper and cheaper to teach\/run AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of us plan the family and\npregnancy very carefully. We all want a bright future for our children. We want\nthem to succeed in their lives and live long and prosper. We carefully select a\nperson with whom to have a child, as well as we usually plan to have a child\nfor a long time. We prefer to have a house and some base before we decide to\nhave a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have come to the conclusion\nthat having an AI is similar. It is inspiring to think and work on General\nArtificial Intelligence, to try different methods of creating it, but we don&#8217;t\nalways consider what the possible consequences of giving birth to an AI are.\nWill we have enough resources to maintain it? Do we have the right to kill it\nat any stage? What to do if there are not enough resources to run your AI\nanymore and you must switch it off and delete it? Can you kill your child?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a lot of discussion\nabout the ethics of AI. For example, is it likely that it might start\ndestroying the humans, hence us? However, there is also a parental component\nhere: are we ready to&nbsp;conceive&nbsp;an AI? Today? Tomorrow?
